I was unable to attend the meeting last Friday, so I met with Dr. Zheng on Thursday. He told me about the progress that Yang has made using DCT. Waiting to see some of the code, maybe read a report on it.
On Wednesday, Yang and I attended a seminar on MATLAB and parallel computing. It was quite interesting, and even as a new user of MATLAB, it wasn't entirely over my head.
